ABOUT OUR MISSIONS

O

ur mission efforts began in the Year 2000, under the name of Christians for Honduras.  We concentrated our efforts in the small remote village of Marion, Honduras, where we assisted the villagers with their water problems and in building 43 new homes.  Over the next few years, we also supplied them with Bibles, school materials, clothing, OTC medications and toiletries, and with limited medical assistance.

In 2007, feeling the leading of the Holy Spirit, we left the good people of Marion in the LORD’s hands and shifted our emphasis from Honduras to Guatemala.  We are now operating under the name of His Way Missions and are working closely with an established Christian organization in Guatemala (Emmanuel Foundation), which is involved in building churches and Bible schools and establishing Christian radio stations.  During 2008, we provided funds to Emmanuel Foundation for assistance in the building of Jocatan Bible Institute, which is now open and in operation.

In 2009, we began a new work in the small village of Camotan, in eastern Guatemala, which is the poorest region in the entire country.  We are working with a medical center there which has medical data on 5000 native Guatemalans and Hondurans, some of whom must walk several hours in order to reach the clinic.  They are planning the construction of a new medical center building, which will house two examination rooms, two baths, and a combination reception/file/storage room.

Construction is expected to begin in February 2009, and will require approximately $37,000.00 for completion.  Size of the building will be 1,700 square feet or 40’ x 42’.  For further information regarding this project, you may e-mail tedoyle@iceweb.net.

In late 2008, a landslide destroyed several villages in eastern Guatemala, and the road connecting the village of Conacaste with many of the other villages was washed away.  We are working toward acquiring funds to re-establish this roadway, which will enable traffic to access the area and save extensive time and labor for man-carrying of materials.   The cost for excavation, drainage, piping, gravel and hauling will be approximately $25,000.00.  Financial assistance is desperately needed for this project.

We continue to provide ONIL GRAVITY WATER FILTERS, which save many lives and THE ONIL STOVE, which prevents injuries, saves lives and preserves forests.  Cost for an individual water filter is $50.00 [U.S. currency].  Each water filter will save at least one life over a period of only a few years.  Cost for the stove is $150.00 [U.S. currency] each, which includes installation.

We also assist with financial needs in our own home area in the U. S., as we become aware of them.
